Unlike previous Hydrogen 7s that run on both gas and hydrogen, the newest version has been optimized to run on hydrogen alone. Under the hood is a V12 internal-combustion engine that achieves extremely low emissions and exceptionally smooth performance. The Hydrogen 7 is a fully developed production model that is undergoing evaluation by select drivers on roads around the world. It is not for sale to the general public. BMW believes hydrogen will replace petroleum as the long-term alternative to fossil fuel, and hopes the Hydrogen 7 will play a pioneering role in driving forward hydrogen technologies.
