BMW's upcoming X6 crossover has been spied again — this time wearing very little disguise and showing off its dramatic sloping roof.
The photos indicate the X6 is indeed an interesting and different vehicle. While many of today's crossovers are a mix of two types, usually a wagon and SUV, the X6 seems to be a mix of three — a four-door sedan, coupe and SUV.
Public response could be either love it or hate it, with not many in between.
Final judgment, however, should be reserved until the official production version is unveiled, which could be as early as next month's Frankfurt auto show. (Autobahn Report will have show coverage.)
Power for the X6 will likely come from BMW's twin-turbo inline-six and a V8. A diesel six will likely be an option.
The X6 will be built in Spartanburg, South Carolina alongside the X5, on which it's based, and Z4 convertible.
